Cybersecurity is National Security
Mike Aleo
Cyberspace is the fifth domain of warfare—equal to land, sea, air, and space. But unlike the others, it doesn’t stop at the battlefield. It extends into our power grids, our financial systems, our supply chains, our hospitals. Defense and infrastructure are inseparable here.
That makes cybersecurity an imperative to national security. Every vulnerability—whether in a defense network or a private pipeline—becomes a national risk. Our adversaries know this. They exploit it daily, targeting the seams between government and industry, between secure enclaves and the open internet.

Protecting the fifth domain demands more than compliance checklists and audits. It requires hands-on training, realistic simulations, and interfaces built for speed, trust, and clarity. It requires treating every analyst, operator, and blue teamer as a frontline defender.
The future of national defense won’t be decided only in the skies or seas—it will be decided in the networks we protect. Cybersecurity isn’t adjacent to national security. It is national security.
